how to get chicks shipped to local post office instead of home?

like what do you put in the shipping address? do you have to have a PO box? I'm so confussed!

I ordered from IdealPoultry. My post office called me one morning at 6 AM to go and pick them up. I think it depends on the post office. You may need to check with your carrier to see if they deliver or what you need to do to have them call for pickup.

I have ordered from Ideal, Hoover, Welp, Meyer, with every one of them I have had to go to Post Office and pick up the chicks. I have never had them delivered to the door. The reason the Post Office has you come and get them is (according to them) if you make the trip to the Post Office and pick them up, that's less time they are exposed to cold delivery persons car/truck. They would be on the road another 8 hours waiting to be delivered to my house. I go to the Post Office and pick them up, have them warm and fed by 6:30am.

thanks guys i have it figured out now! and am expecting 30 chicks on March 12th!
