how to get cochin hen to go broody

When I was raising brooder hatchery chicks indoors without a broody mama, I played them broody + chick youtube sounds and they loved it. But I hadn't thought of trying it to entice a hen into broodiness in the first place!

Oh yes! I encourage the chicks to hatch safely by playing them chick noises too!

Attention and show elevated interest when they hear baby chick sounds.
Even better if you can show them a few real chicks.

Since I don't have an incubator, but do have an excellent yearling BCM roo & multiple volunteer broodies to try out, I succeeded this year with my flock's very own chicks raised right in the flock! So I may already be done with the "broody/chick soundtrack"???
