How To Get Just A Couple Of Chicks???

I am interested in getting 2 or 3 more chicks and I would love some Black Jersey Giants. All the hatcheries I know of have a minimum order of much more than that which I understand (due to warmth needs). I have tried to get two of my local feed stores to tack on a few extra chicks to there orders but they seem reluctant to do that at this time.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can get just a couple of Black Jersey Giants? Any suggestions would be more than welcome - thanks....

I ordered from Meyers and I was very happy. They have a minimum order of 3 and they have Jersey Giants, but you have to call and see if they are in stock now.

mypetchicken.com seems to be the place that allows you to order smaller qtys. I think their min. is 3 but be sure to read the fine print. I seem to recall something about how far away from a large city you are determines if they can ship you 3 or 8 chickens.

As for ordering - if you order more than you need perhaps you could find someone on this site that would take them from you or you could put them on craig's list - I had more than enough takers when I had to get rid of 3 buff orps in March. Also maybe you could put something at your local feed store for interested owners to contact you. Just some food for thought.

Yes, my pet chicken is the place for small orders, but for 3 chicks you have to live in one of the major cities they list. Anything outside of those cities I think the minimum is 5 or 8 chicks.
