Hello. I posted a few days ago about a chicken acting sick that I ultimately decided to bring inside, after reluctance due to the acclimating to cold weather issue. Well she's been in my house for two days now, I ultimately still don't know what's going on with her, but she seems a little better. She is still pretty low energy, but eats and drinks when prompted and her poops seem normal I guess. I don't really want her in my house much longer.
So how do I get her back outside safely? At the moment it is probably 10F and probably won't get much warmer. It is supposed to warm up the rest of the week; mid 20s next two days mid 30s Friday. So do I put her out today in the dog crate, with some wind break, a heating pad and heating lamp, or wait until one of the warmer days? I hate to put a heat lamp in the coop but maybe that too for a couple nights until she gets herself back used to the winter weather? She also isn't done molting...
Any opinions would be appreciated!
