How to get over grief of a hen

My sweet little oegb hen Nightingale died a few months ago. Whenever I look at her picture I start crying. I miss her so much. Is there any way to ease the grief or does it heal with time?

So sorry for your loss! As with the loss of any beloved family member, it WILL get better with time. I don't know how to help you through this, except to offer hugs.
Do you have other chickens? Your interactions with them, and time, will eventually make new memories that are just as dear - and the pain of losing her will be easier to bear.

Yes! I have 9 hens, getting another pullet in a few months. Nightingales sister Ivy died back in febuary. Thank you.

Some are just so easy to get attached to! Was Nightingale part of your first flock, what made her extra special/stand out to you? I like hearing about super sweet bird personalities, if you're up to sharing about her! She sounds like she was a special girl! Of course you miss her!

No, She was one of the og trio bantams of our second flock. She was amazing! Never attacked new chickens we added and only gave the occasional peck. She was so cute and the sweetest little thing!
