I have had trouble with two bantams,it started during the winter when i noticed clumps of tiny eggs around the bantam rooster's vent, then I pulled his feathers back more and saw little tan insects crawling around.

then my 4-H agent told me to put wood ashes on the mites.Well, that didn't work out well.so, yesterday, I was looking around the house for something to put on the bantams, and then i came across my old spray bottle and my dog's flea and tick shampoo. so, I put warm water and some dog shampoo in the spray bottle and shook it up and sprayed it on the mites twice and now they are mite free!

Nice work!! I had a old timer tell me that he would sprinkle a little seven dust under each wing in the "armpit" area. The dust would eliminate all feather lice, mites, etc.
