I have a problem with lice/mites, I need something that can be applied to the hen and in the coop. We have already tried some methods, but nothing worked and now it has gotten a little out of control, so I need something that works quickly. Please help…

Oh! Can you look at the Elector PSP ingredient and see if there's an equivalent available to you?

Elector PSP's main (active) ingredient is Spinosad. Its common in many "garden dust" formulations here, unsure what may be available in Croatia.

I prefer Permethrin or another Pyrethrin-like compound, which is generally cheaper and more readily available as my first choice, and will go to Spinosad only if Permethrin doesn't work (that has never been the case, in my thankfully limited experience.)

There are no "natural" remedies I can recommend as consistently effective for treatment.

Yeah, I saw the main ingredient is Spinosad and it’s used for gardening so I was confused if it can be used on chickens. I also saw how the elector psp is used and that seems like a perfect way to get rid of mites and lice, but it’s not available in Croatia unfortunately and I did my reaserch and also read about Permethrin which is also quite difficult to get in Croatia, but it is available. This situation is getting out of control, my chickens have naked backs and bums and even dirt baths arent helping. I think the best option would be some kind of bath, if Spinosad or Permethrin can be diluted in water. We tried all kinds of powders and even some tablets that burned and that helped a little bit but not even nearly enough…

Permethrin is routinely applied diluted in water. I keep mine in a pump up sprayer, and vary the concentration based onhow I'm using it.
Then I’ll get Permethrin and make a bath and bathe them all one by one… Of course I’ll be carefull with the concentration etc and we’ll see how that goes :)

Can you get ahold of sulfur powder?

It is used in gardening, but it is also effective at killing/preventing mites/lice.

You can put it in dust bath and/or put it in a stocking or other cloth "bag" and hang it from the entrance of the coop, so they have to rub against it when they enter/exit. You could also dust each chicken individually, and put it in coop bedding, roosts, nest boxes, etc...
