I have a hen that is sitting on one egg. We are on day 21 today. I check her egg 2 or 3 days ago and all was good. I have not check since and have left mama hen alone. I noticed in the camera today, she was off the egg and eating. I headed out to check the egg. I noticed right away tiny lice/mites on the eggs. The chick also has started to hatch.

I have removed the bedding, treated mama hen with ivermectin behind the neck and on her vent. I now have treated the rest of my flock the same way. I will be cleaning out the copes today and spraying them. What happens if the egg fully hatches today or tomorrow with mites in the coop. How do I move forward for the baby?

Dust the nest and the immediate area with a good poultry dust, preferably before the egg hatches, so it has time to settle.
