I noticed 3 days ago our Betty girl was suddenly getting bullied. She had been number 2 in the pecking order. Initially I thought it could just be a rearranging of the order and watched and waited. Today I noticed her spending a lot of time in her nesting box and removed her egg but she continued to stay in her box. I thought maybe she’s just broody but then I saw she had plucked stomach feathers and an area around her vent was plucked and inflamed. She also seems to have lost some weight. She is still eating and drinking normally and aside from today very active. Today when she is out of her nesting box she is active as normal. We checked her and all the other girls and they all have these bugs. I tried google but I can’t figure out for sure if it’s mites or lice.
