Hello,
Can anybody tell me how they get rid of the mice safely from there pens without hurting the birds. We have had alot of snow last month and evey time I pick up the birds food to refill there at least 10 of them under there. They have also started making holes everywhere to get to the food that is hanging. I also have many wild animals, deer, foxes that I don't want to hurt.
I was going to place some poision down the holes but was afraid if it every got out the birds may eat it???

I use sticky traps in summer outside the pens but near the bolt holes. Winter I'd go with a couple snap traps in shoeboxes right at epicenters. Set them up with holes cut into the box and something irresistible on the trap. I use peanut butter. :) So long as you don't have ants or extremely light footed vermin, that should help with the problem. And keeping the traps in a box both makes the mice feel safer and prevents a chicken or cat from stepping on the trap.
