How to get rid of skunk on the dogs???

this autumn our dogS were sprayed & husband let them back in house..only to have them both run & hide under our bed..i awoke to hubby spraying both with his $65.00 bottle of colonge...uugggghhhh !!!! i had no perioide nor rubbing alchocl......LOL...i used...dawn...baking soda & vinger..well they bubbled & bubbled & foamed up...lol...oops i forgot what baking soda & vinegar does when mixed !!! did this twice in a roll...smell came out..until dogs get wet, slight skunky smell.....removing smell from under bed was a bit harder to remove..scrubbed carpet..sprayed freshers in air..took days to get rid of.. good luck.

But just an update the boys slept with DD lastnight and they smelled wonderful. We gave them a good scrubbin with the dishsoap+baking soda+peroxide and let it sit for a good 10 minutes and then rinsed them really well. So they're both stench free

The peroxide, baking soda, and dishsoap mix really does a pretty good job I think.

My Chesapeake got sprayed directly in the eyes, and her eyes swelled shut! She was OK after much rinsing within a few hours. (this was the first of many many skunkings)
But, I was told whole milk, and a citrus dishwashing liquid, which I tried. She loved being bathed in milk! It sort of worked, still stunk though. Tried peroxide next time, Nature Miracle next. I was also told never to use tomato juice because the acid in the juice can have an allergic reaction on a dogs skin.

I love that you keep saying out loud "I think it's getting better", when it's really not.
