Really? Everyone I've talked to who has used it has said that the smell isn't bad at all, not any worse than Frontline, and more or less totally dissipates within an hour or two. My co-workers who have used it say that it does smell like amitraz, which has a turpentiney smell to it when first applied, but that it's not overpowering or strong. And since amitraz is the active ingredient in the preventic collars, I imagine they would smell just as bad to someone who has a problem with the smell of Certifect. I know that there was a product on the market for a time that smelled God-awful, so bad in fact that it is no longer available as a topical product. I want to say it was Comfortis, but I can't for the life of me remember (and it's going to drive me absolutely crazy). Everyone I talked to said it smelled terrible. It worked really well, but smelled so bad it wasn't worth it.
