How to get stuck poop off hens vent

Sometimes hens will get a build up of gunk inside the vent opening. You can use a lubricated disposable glove and feel inside for something like that. Is there any odor to her vent or the material that you got out?

The odor to the stuff I got out was a disarray smell, hence why that was my first thought
