Hi,
If I have White Silkies Roos and White Silkie hens housed together with no other colors, Assuming their white genes are recessive, Will I still get white silkie chicks every time? Or what percentage will be white ? Anyone have a chart on this. There is a lot of different info on the web regarding this question. I did have all my silkies of different colors in the same coop. Needless to say, I rarely got a white chick (a couple out of a couple hundred).
One more question, if all the chicks aren’t white, does the likelihood of getting all whites increase if I keep and breed the white chicks with each continuing generation ? Is it possible to reach a white dominant gene from recessive white genes if I keep the white silkies down through multiple generations? Thanks for the help.
