How to grind up quail food?

I have button quail eggs in the incubator, I have been reading online that you have to grind their food so that they can eat it. They will be on a game bird starter. Can someone tell me what is used to grind the food smaller? Is there something specific that I should use or just smash it smaller?

What I use is a thing called, "the Magic Bullet", but a regular blender will do just fine. Just don't blend it to the point where it become's too fine of a powder.

You can use a pestle and morter, or put it in a paper bag and hit it with a rolling pin, or a food processor, whatever you have to hand really

I used to put mine in ziplock bag and beat it with a kitchen mallet. Now I use a coffee grinder, much faster

When we got the new food we're feeding now I figured out after a day that it was too big (poor hungry quail!), the 'crumbles' were more mini pellet sized. Anyway, I threw it in the blender in small amounts, about a quarter of the blender jar full at a time, and that kept it as coarse as I wanted to make it but made grinding it up quick work too. I was going to try my food processor but apparently it's not working since our move, and I have used a coffee grinder for similar tasks before too. What ever you have on hand should work as long as you can control how small you make it.

If you don't have grinder, just put feed into the bag and use the jar as roller.
