how to hand turn eggs?

this is probobly a silly question

never incubated eggs before and will be attempting to hatch some muscovy eggs. i'm new to all this and don't exactly understand how to hand turn the eggs. i know that duck eggs do better tilted on side rather than straight up and down and the small ends face down. but to turn do i just twist them around or flip them to opposite sides?

he he lol,,,.,..... i have had the same problem,,.... but if you lay them on the floor of the incubator, put an X on one side of the egg, and an O on the other side, and everytime you turn them make sure to just turn them over to the other letter,,,,, this is harder to explain than i thought lololol

i know! i thought i was silly for having to ask. so let me make sure i got this

if the egg is on it's side i just roll it over to the other side, not turn it end over end. in other words the small end and big end stay in the same spot and don't flip to a different one..... lol

I had the same question! I went to Youtube and found a bunch of videos - the one that I watched was this one:

Another point - I don't know how important this is, but I made sure to keep the pointy end pointing down - like the person in the video, I had my eggs on wood shavings + straw, so my eggs were not parallel to the floor - more like at a 15-30 angle with respect to the floor, I think, with the pointy end pointing down.

I turned them by hand myself and noticed the eggs getting heavier as the incubation progressed. As if that was not enough, during lockdown, I noticed that the eggs got heavy enough to "sink" a bit into the bedding rofl.
