How to handle reserved park pavilion & bringing chickens...

your doing great, Wynette! don't be sad. when i was a pro clown, you wouldn't believe the things i ran into like this. i'd have to coordinate events for several hundred people and the hoops you have to jump through can be many.

i used animals in a magic act and they had to be leashed at all times. if they accidentally escaped, it could affect the ecosystem. yadda yadda.

keep up the good work, we appreciate it!

Okay, MJ - you were a professional clown? For REAL, like with the big red nose and huge shoes and all? HOLY COW! You are QUITE the well-rounded woman!

I'll keep at it. I'm confident we'll figure it out. Thanks for the support, feedback, and advice.

Hennys mom - yep, I am pretty ticked off right now. Like you, it irks me that the guy says there's nothing written saying we can't, but he doens't want us to....what the heck?

wynette, how about having it at a persons place?

Yours, MJ's, Chcickflick, etc. Not those specifcally but anyone of us who were planning on attending may want to host....no, I'm not volunteerin.

MJ was a clown....that splains a lot.

Steve, I don't want to have it at my place for a number of reasons, mainly because I have 3 huge house dogs (the smallest is 100#) that DH and I did not properly socialize as pups; thus, I really don't trust them with new folks. Knock wood, only once in 12 years has one of them bitten someone, but that was one time too many. They are like our kids, and are with us constantly, so they just wouldn't understand all the commotion and them not being included. And, if someone needed to use the restroom...they'd go off the deep end, for sure. I just don't want to go there.

I'm going to call the city dude today and speak with him, and if we can't come to an agreement, then I'll pop over to the MI thread and ask if anyone is interested in volunteering to have it at their home. Thanks!

I just found their website, and will give them a call. May need someone local to reserve it...it's typically less expensive to rent if you live within the county/city.

yep, i really was a clown. no joke. i'll see if i can dig up some photos. no big nose. tiny little nose tip. tres cute!

what about a church with a park or something? or a VFW hall with a park or something?
