I have 16 chickens at home and my sister is the one who takes care of them, but she is having a hard time watching them suffer in their old age. So I was wondering what the quickest way to kill them is. Is there a euthanizing shot out there to give chickens that are commercially available? Or is there an easier way to do this where its not so emotionally challenging for the person that is helping the chicken along? Snapping or chopping the neck is a little too hard for any of us chicken lovers . any information asap would be much appreciated.

Might be able to get a vet to give them 'the shot'.
That's the only 'easy' death that I know of.
Or find someone else to do the deed.

Ask around and find someone who processes their own birds. They may be willing to "do the deed" for you for a small fee. After all, you don't need them processed for eating, just put down. Or maybe someone wanting birds for the stew pot or to feed their dogs the meat would take them off your hands.
