How to help my two silkie roos?

I have two silky roosters about three years old and I would say they’re both a little special one of them physically (scissor beak). They both lost their two sisters to a sinus infection and the bigger one Buffy has been picking on his brother Edward (aka Edward Scissorbeak) I see that it’s hurting Edward’s confidence. I was wondering if anyone thought it would be a good idea to look into finding them a new lady or two? They’ve never mounted a hen or each other all they really do is stand in one spot all day biting sunbeams. I was wondering if another chicken would awaken some of their instincts? They don’t scratch the ground. They won’t eat bugs or grass or fruits or snacks. Only pellets. I don’t think they really know anything, if you put a book in front of them, they’d think they’re stuck and would stay there for days if you didn’t move it. How can I help them get their brain cells working?

Do you have a coop with a run that you could put them in or are these house chickens? If you get them a few ladies, I'd assume they can't all live in your house and they'll need a place of their own. I am sure that would help them immensely!

Also, have you ever tried to slightly snip and file the tips of Edward's beak? He'd probably be able to eat a little better. We have one too. Ours does well with dry crumbles and crumble mash the same.

They do have a coop but it’s inside for the winter. They will go back outside in the spring though. We just make sure to wheel the coop back inside at night. We have lots of predators and my boys are not the brightest. Could probably comfortably fit 1-3 more ladies.

I wouldn’t be opposed to trying to snip Edward’s beak a little I did think it looked a little long. He’s never had much issue eating, but that’s probably because he only eats pellet

Just have a file for any rough edges and keep flour handy in case it bleeds a little. Good luck!
