How to introduce new rooster to hens and 1 chick - in Texas

I have 9 hens(about 2yrs old) and a 2 month old chick that I think is a rooster. The hens are Cochins and Cornish. A new rooster was given to me that was purchased from a Mexican flea market. He kinda looks like a Gallo Giro cross with something. I understand he was probably breed for fighting but he was too small so he was sold. I currently have him in a large cage in the yard with the hens. My question is do you think he will hurt the 2 month old chick and how will he do with my hens?

He is a rooster and instinct will make him protect the flock so there should be no problem with the hens. The chick will probably avoid him by running away.
