I’d love to hear little tips and tricks on how to efficiently keep a cabinet incubator clean. I bought a Dickey’s 2014 model with 3 incubating racks and a Hatcher at the bottom. I just had a small batch of 19 chicks hatch and man! Who knew those cute little nuggets are so messy! My smaller incubator was a breeze to clean! The task seems so daunting with this cabinet incubator.

I wrapped the bottom tray with plastic wrap and that was nice and easy to clean but the fuzz is EVERYWHERE! I will be hatching weekly so it’s a little awkward trying to quickly clean up and get the incubator back on.

Ignor the temp and humidity, I had just closed it back up.

I did not notice the fuzz when I was using a styrofoam incubator. I would clean and disinfect between settings but I had no idea there was so much fuzz involved until I switched to a cabinet-style incubator. Fortunately I can remove the racks and wipe down the interior pretty quickly. I have thought about covering the hatching basket(s) in cheesecloth next time to contain some of the mess. Before & after photo below, the fan was a temporary modification, now removed.
