I have gotten some great ideas here for making a no waste feeder using 90 degree PVC elbows, but how do you keep the mice out at night? These feeders would be too heavy for me to bring in the house every night.

Do you have mice problems now, or just trying to prevent it?
If your using a five gallon bucket, set your bucket on a half cinder block. This way the bucket will over hang the block all the way around. I don't think they would be able to get in by jumping up into the hole. You could also put caps over the holes every night, but you need to be up early to take them off.

Link for block i'm talking about below. Also attaching a pic of my feeder. It's not a half block but the sides with the elbows overhang the block. I don't have a rodent problem, I just set it up like this.

I picked up a grandpas feeder. I was initially concerned that they wouldnt use it, but I followed their training, and two weeks in, they are all using it freely! All my girls are 1+ years old.
