Hm, seems there is a lot of info around that Scovies tend to fly away. Mine never even attempted flying(or running, since I free range them) away, mine are tame, get food and water and never had a reason to I guess.
Ok, when I penned them, then the female wanted to come greet me and flew the fence, once around the house and then landed by my feet.
The male is too fat and heavy to go anywhere(he'll sit by the door hissing and bobbing his head), he can just dream, the girls have their wing clipped tho since without supervision free ranging is not allowed(coyotes, they killed at least a dozen of my scovies last year for flying the fence and grazing in our yard uinsupervised).
Yes, you can clip a wing just like you do with chickens.
