It was pretty hot out today and the ducks were just playing follow the shadows (they do have plenty of them) and panting a little. Not really distressed, but not having much fun.
So since I was cleaning out their pools (4 kiddie pools and a deep stock tank - spoiled rotten brats!)
I decided to dump our ice bin in the pool. They are the crescent ice cubes and have pretty round edges so I thought they wouldn't cause too many problems. Once they were small enough to go down, they would just get smaller. I watched them very closely and didn't see any problems and they sure were excited
The only issue was our pekin is a bit bigger than the rest and I think she was able to swallow them while they were bigger and got a little case of crop freeze
