how to keep your water jugs from freezing

I was just wondering, since soda cans are used as a solar heating, has anyone try connecting a copper pipe from the soda cans to there water bucket. If you have heat blowning from the pipe to the water, it should keep the water from freeze during the day time right. Or what....

Because when we had a rabbit water bottle outside the little tube would freeze even if the rest of the water didn't......so in that water jug how do you prevent the spout from freezing? And just curious how does the water come out for the birds exactly?

When we had the rabbit we either used 2 water bottles and interchanged them a couple of times a day, or set up a heat lamp for him when we melted the spare bottle.
Last year I would just bust out the dog's water with my fence tester screwdriver, but my dog is mainly indoors so I only had to do this when we were playing outside.
I will probably just get a plug-in dog dish for the chickens since I work fulltime nowadays. I think they were ~$20 at TSC and that's a price I can afford to pay for the convenience.

No nipple. You leave the top off. The cooler I have is smaller and not nearly as tall as the picture. It is just that it is insulated and I fill it with warm water that keeps it from freezing most nights.

I was thinking of using the pop cans solar to connect a small pipe to a cooler at the top. Hopefully this will give my cooler some heat and keep the water from being frozen during the day. I dont care about the nights bc my chicken are usually asleep at night. Will this work or will my cooler just makes the water evaporate just like when you boiler hot water. Any advice will be helpful.

I have used the metal water heater with metal watering can. It has a built in themostat that turns on at about 38 degrees.
