how to locate a poultry processor in Ohio

I have 30 cornish cross my husband has been now told he has to leave for Europe for work the week of processing I have spent most my day trying to locate someone to process for me can someone throw me a bone please

I am in NE Ohio and wouldn't mind the drive if thats what it takes. I tried craigslist got a bunch of hate mail

only if they knew how there store bought chicken was raised

We live in SE ohio and we found an Amish man to butcher ours. I bet if you can locate some Amish that they would butcher them. Ours charges $2.00 a bird and you just drop off your chickens and some coolers with ice in them.

I think they are all the way up to $1.25 per broiler. Do a very nice job and they supply the ice. If you make arrangements well in advance (they are very, very busy) they will do them while you wait.

Lemme see- you would go south to Fredericktown then travel 127m west to the town I live in now then 14m south to Greenville and then 3m east to Kings. (I'm from Danville originally, so I know the way to and from).

Call about 2 in the afternoon and ask for Levi. He is easier to coerce into things than his mother. That would be MRS. KING the schedule enforcer.

I've been curious about this too, so I called the extension office and there is a "Plucky Poultry Processing" in Utica (Knox County -I think). They just bought the business though and won't be doing any processing until the 22nd of May or so.

I called the Ohio Poultry Assn. a few weeks back and this is the list she provided to me she said it not have been updated in a while. We are taking our birds to Sandusky dropping them off and spending the day at the wildlife park my son wanted to got to. hope this list helps ya'll

Thanks for the info. I'll probably go to Tewes in Erlanger. It's about the same distance, maybe a little closer. They said they can do 12-15 birds while I wait.
