My silky laid one egg and acted like she was going broody, I wanted more eggs so I have took five from her. Can I put them in the nest and get to go broody? She has not shown any more sign of staying on the nest since the first day??
Thanks, Bobby

Hello,
Before I took a chance that your hen might ruin the eggs, I'd give her some fake eggs and see if she will set on them.
Give her about three days and see if she stays put, gets protective of the nest and doesn't let them cool off.
If you are "sure" she is setting you can give her the real eggs.
You can use store eggs also, in place of fake, and if you take them away after three days they are still good for cakes etc:
just my 2 cents.
