How to make chicken coop more appealing?

As I am writing this I have 3 chickens protesting about the 1 basket they all want to lay eggs in, because they don't like sharing it. They had another coop and yesterday I made them another one, but are not having it. This elevated basket is the holy grail for the chickens. I tried enticing them to lay in the other ones with some eggs I put there, but to no avail. They are ready to break out into a WWE fight for this basket.
Idk if it's actually called a basket but it looks like a square basket so basket= egg laying place.

Its perfectly normal - laying time can be a real rugby scrum. There's little you can do about it, but they will work it out for themselves - they always seem to prefer one nest.

Yes, I've read on another thread of a golden nest, the owner wrote that the hens would be lined up waiting to use that nesting box. I have two nest boxes for 5 hens. They use both only for laying. They are side by side identical in size, same height off the floor, same color. I keep them clean, use straw in both and have a white ceramic egg in each, I have brown egg layers, easy to tell the fakes. I usually have two eggs in one and two or three in the other, when I check around 10am. Wow it's 10am, got to go. Hope that helps. GC

I had 9 hens back in high school. They all laid in 2 out of 5 nest boxes. Some times there would be two hens in each box at a time, with a third standing on the rail fussing at them.
Don't fret, all you can do is provide more than one next box and let them figure it out.
And laugh, cause it really is kinda funny.
