Just got 4 peafowl 2 were maybe 3 wks old and the other two guessing about 3 mo. Two babies able to hold and able to tame the other 2 older ones still very scared. What are some tips to get these birds to be friendly and eat out of my hand. and what can i give them as a treat at this young age.

I give mine dole mandarin oranges, plain greek yogurt, watermelon. They love it! I bought 3 of mine from a breeder, and one I hatched, the one I hatched isn't scared of me at all, but the others took a couple weeks to get to be "okay" with me touching them. I change their towel every day and after I do, they get their treats. Be sure if you give them mandarin oranges, that you hang on tight and not let them have the whole thing until they're old enough. Sometimes one of mine will pull off a half of one and end up having a hard time getting it down, so I only let them have about a quarter of a piece at a time, mine are about a month and a half old now, so they're still kinda little and I had them since they were a few days old, so they have been with me and getting used to me since then, might be harder for older kiddos. But just don't chase them around too much if you can help it. And if you have to grab them to change their bedding or anything, be slow and patient. You can also spend time with them every day. I took mine out and put them in a cardboard box and sat them on my lap with my hand in there with them for a half hour every day or every other day, just whenever I had extra time. Good luck! :)
