How to make run more fun?

Should I cover only some of the run with the tarp or the whole thing?

Yes sand is fine invested its like grit and will not hurt of you have seen chick grit its basiclycrushed granite that looks like sand.

I have two dog kennels hooked together so one is covers and pone half isn't. How big is your run?

So would you suggest wood chips or sand to cover the whole run? Or Half and half? And if wood chips, what kind of wood is best to use? I know some aren't very good for chickens

Ceder isn't good I haven't used sand I like wood chips because I let it get to a point were it needs new chips and so I just put more and it decomposes no cleaning necessary.

Don't do half and half.

Doyou have a raised coop?
What are the dimensions ( ex:10x10)?

There like a mixedblend of pine,maple,oak,etc

Any wood would do just not cedar.
Ceadr is bad on the lungs for chickens
