How to manage flies

Its getting hot here in North Central Texas and flies are a problem, what can I do to control them?

The way I control 'em is to go to the big box store (Costco, Lowe's, Home Depot, the like) and buy those fly trap thingies that look like a 2-liter bottle...here's a pic:


And boy DO THEY WORK!! If you Google "fly trap bait" and then click on images you'll get a TON of ideas!! Best of luck...it's that time of year!!
