How to merge and move flocks at the same time

I’d for sure set an alarm for daybreak. It’ll just be one day!

if you happen to have some pallets, you could very well create some temporary hiding spots in the coop as well. I use a pallet on bricks then cinder blocks when integrating young birds. Sometimes I put it right under the roost cause that’s the only space I have. It helps a lot for those early morning hours before I get it together to let them out.

Thanks for sharing your idea about using Pallets. Unfortunately, I don't have any at the moment. As for getting up early, I do get up around 6:30. Given that days are so short and sunrise isn't until around that time, I should be ok. Plus, I have installed 3 remote cameras which cover just about all the angles. So I'll be able to keep an eye on everyone & see what happens at the crack of dawn as well as throughout the day. Any sign of trouble, I'll intervene and move one of the roos out. Then, put him back at night after adding a hiding area. Hopefully this will help. Otherwise, I'll try more drastic measures.

So all of the troops were moved to their new coop last night - Sun. Jan. 5th. While I tried putting everyone on the roosting bars, not everyone cared to sleep on them. Some slept on the floor while a few others slept in a couple of nesting boxes. I am sad to report that there was a scuffle between the two roosters this morning. However, it lasted only a few minutes and the two gents are now staying in their 'corners' & avoiding each other. I'll continue to keep an eye on everyone and report back if things take a turn for the worse (hope not).
