how to predator-proof top of coop where it meets corrugated roofing?

I used a can or two of expanding foam in my metal roof corrugations and any hole a mouse or snake could get in. Just clean up any stray pieces.

I have a couple spots I was thinking about using the foam in but the chickens could potentially get to it so I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. Can yours get to it? If so do they bother with it?

I also need to do the corners of the siding on the house to keep the stupid chipmunks out. But now I'm scared I'll actually foam them IN. :he

Mine don't bother it. The corrugations are 5' high, and that is the low end of my roof. I've put some in the corners in a couple spots. It is covered with bedding, and once they know food and not food it really isn't an issue. My chickens are outside free ranging most the time, so really don't get bored. The canned foam gets really hard, and not something they care for. Just make sure you clean up any small stray pieces when you apply it, and remember, it expands alot.

Thanks so much for all your advice and ideas! We didn’t get as far as installing roofing panels today but I think the expanding foam may work. Now that I think of it, the raccoons won’t be able to pry it up, so my only real issues will be mice or squirrels stealing food- not predators. The coop is coming along nicely, I’ll post pics soon!
