How to prevent bill spots

Do you know, I was just wondering that myself. Next weekend, I need to do health checks on the flock. I will look at their bills with a magnifying glass. Once I clean off the dirt, that is..

I know different breeds vary in bill color. And there is probably some variability within the breed.

Have you noticed ducks who did NOT have any spots suddenly developing them? Maybe it happens as part of aging?

What do you think? BTW beautiful duck you have there. :) What breed?

Anyone got any suggestions on how to prevent spots on a ducks bill?

Anyone know how bill spots are caused?

Thanks

You can't prevent it it happens with age and has to do with egg laying. Someone said it has something to calcium? I'm not sure how true that is but I do know that only my females have ever developed spots on their bills. Certain breeds like Anconas might just have them because of the breed.
