How to prevent birds from breeding?

I have an aviary that houses parakeets and they keep having babies. Would removing the nest boxes prevent them from breeding? My aviary is becoming to cramp with all the birds.

When we had parakeets they only bred if there was a nest box around. When they didn't have one, mama bird wasn't interested and daddy bird left her alone. Another thing that helped us was rearranging the cage frequently. Toys, food bowls, perches, anything you can move to change it up will make mama not want to settle and make a nest.

Yes take out the nest boxes and anything else in the aviary that looks like a nest, such as happy huts and bird tents.
