How to protect Lucille from Earl [updated, semi graphic pic]

White Rock maybe? They are very pretty.

I tend to be partial to the pristine white chickens (I am a White Leghorn fan...

OK, so now I'm confused...if meat birds aren't mating...then where are they all coming from...A.I or something? Doesn't some meat hen need to be mated by a meat roo inorder to make fertile eggs? I'm curious now as I understand that most meat birds don't make it past a few months before meeting their maker...if you get my drift.

They are a cross between two type to make the fast growing birds. You can't breed two meat birds and get the same thing since they are a cross.

OK, now that it's stopped raining, I got some new pics. You can see one of Lucille's bald patches in the first one, and Earl trying to look ferocious in the last one (he'd just thrown himself at me, but was stopped by the fence).

I know they a.i. domestic turkey's because they're too big to do the deed.

I don't believe those are 'meat' birds. Try posting one of those pix to the 'What is this breed or gender' section. They'll know for sure. They look like White Rocks to me.
