how to put a knew hen in with my flock

hi I have a flock of 12 right know 11 hens 1 rooster
I have rhode island reds
a barred rock
a sliver laced rooster bantem
a lavender D,uccle
a leghorn

and I want to add one new chicken
how do I get my pullets and roo to like the new hen

and if you can name some good breed thanks
I want a colorful breed

my hens right know are almost 6 months old and 9 are laying

My advice is DON'T DO IT. When you get to the point that you're ready to add at least 3, preferably more, then give it a go. The more gradual you can make the transition, the easier it is. But a single target with 12 territorial birds? She's going to get hurt, possibly killed as she will be the sole recipient of all of their negative attention.
