how to raise humidity!!!!!????

I use sponges and fill the trays up to the top. I keep mine at 65% when hatching.

I read here how some of you mist the eggs , chicken eggs ?

I have not heard of that or tried it like that , does it give you good hatches ?

I have heard of misting duck and goose eggs but this is the first i have heard of misting chicken eggs .

I only use the sponge method and put a humidifier in the room that the hatcher is in .

Do you have a second hydrometer. Hard to believe you can only get 27%. I will put a small bowl or cup of water(make it very warm if you need to raise it fast. You can also put a cloth wet with warm water. I try to keep mine at 65% for hatching 45-55 during incubating.

are you sure your hygrometer is reading correctly?? I am running my sportsman to get it ready for a batch of eggs.. I always run it dry for a day or so.. I am at day 3 right now and my temp is at 99.5 and my hum% is 29% with no water in it at all.. I have a Springfield hygrometer/therm both tested for accuracy..

Check your guages for accuracy before you start another batch..

and do a little test run to see if you can raise the hum% also..

If you can lower your temp, the hum% might go up.. however I do not know what your temp is..
