I have three game hens currently- they are 15 weeks old... They have a coop with a good sized fenced in play area where they free range during most of the day. My brother just hatched some Buff Orpingtons and I'd love to be able to have them as well.... I'm concerned that they won't mix well though. Everyone I've read about Buffs says they are docile and game hens not so much... Also we live in Florida and I'm worried they will be too hot for our climate. Thoughts?

My son in law has orpingtons...they do fine. Just make sure the pens have adequate ventilation and shade. As far as mixing goes...there needs to be plenty of room for all. Way more than suggested. How well they do depends on just how game your others are. I have o shamos that can never be in a mixed flock. They kill everything,.
