how to raise the baby chicks from a broody hen with other chickens????

I have often wounderd this too... I plan on keeping Momma hen who had her broode under our poch. and proly 3 or 4 of her baby's. Im not sure if we will keep a rooster. but I was thinking when my chicks are big chicks. I'd get a rooster if i do not keep a boy from my broode.

but if the rooser is to Sir all the girls and all the girls have eggs.. will it be ok to keep everyone in the same enclose together? to all hatch their baby's together n live together?

I have 18 chickens (I think.) 2 roos over a year, 7 pullets not old enough to lay, one cockerel about 2 months, 7 hens over 2 years, two pullets who just started laying. They all share one coop and a large fenced yard. All the young ones were raised by broodies, in with the flock, and all are old enough now that the broodies no longer mother them. 8 of them are smaller than full size. No fighting, no feather picking, no unacceptable pecking. No hens show signs of being overmated.
