I have one jumbo brown hen that had gotten her head skinned up pretty good. The other 2 weren't like this. I moved her to a different pen by herself, until she healed up pretty good. I then put her back with her group.
The next day, I went out to feed them, and this poor girl's head was bleeding again!! She is again in a cage by herself, and getting all healed up.

How can I reintroduce her to the group? Should I try putting her in with a different group? I have some younger quail, that are about 4 or 5 weeks old. Would it be better to try putting her with them?

Another question, I have a total of 10 jumbo brown hens, and 2 roos. Right now, they are in two groups, one with 1 male and 3 females (counting the injured one), the other group has 1 male and 7 females.

How can I integrate the two groups? I am planning on getting bigger cages, but one of the cages is plenty big enough for all of them already. Can i just 'toss' them all together or what?

I'd let her heal completely then put her back in with the group

the problem is if she wasn't completely healed they probably just rebred a freshly healed area and were able to rip it right back opened. I've had to reintroduce previously injured hens twice already...well three times now....and as long as they are completley healed theres no issues.

I do (toss them together)....just threw in 6 week old quails (a ton) into the golden hutch pen as well as the jumbo brown group in there... NO issues, just roos running around trying ot breed all the hens they don't recognize

That's what I kind of figured, I believe that's why this girl's head was pecked again. The roo was mating up a storm with her when I first put her back, and her head was healed, but not feathered.

Should I wait until her feathers come back in before I put her back with the others?
