I'm debating putting the Nestera coop inside the 10'x20' welded wire run (which I will wrap and skirt with hardware cloth. I had hoped to use the Nestera run (I have the large Pentouse) as a connecting tunnel to the larger run, but it seems a bit less secure than I had hoped. If I create more robust connections (instead of flimsy wire ties), and secure the wire that closes off the under-coop area so it's not easy to open, can this be secure enough to allow them the extra space? I'm in Maryland, in the Baltimore-Annapolis area and I know we have foxes, stray dogs, and hawks. Our property lacks a good boundary fence. I'd like to give them the extra space and ourselves easier access to the coop, but I think the attached run was likely a wasted expense.
