When I built the frame to hold my rabbit cages, I didn't know about the "zoomies," so I built it from ripped 2x4s. And the 2x2s I made are spindly enough that when the rabbits get the zoomies, the whole contraption rocks and tosses their cage cups off the cage wall, usually losing all their water in the process.

When I got my first rabbit I dealt with this by drilling a hole in the hanging tab on the cup and running a piece of safety wire through it, which I tied to the cage. That worked well but the problem was the rabbit would drop hay and whatnot in the water, and that in time was obviously going to rot and contaminate his water, so the cup needed to be removed every day or two to empty the debris. So the safety wire isn't unworkable, I'm just looking for a way to attach them that's more convenient for me.

I've tried watering bottles but I've got two rabbits that were raised drinking from bowls (before I got them) and just won't drink from the dispenser.

Any ideas, or is it safety wire or nothing?
