Is there any way to sex ducks by wing pattern, or do go stictly by color? A friend has ducks and I am trying to get info for him. I'm what you could call "duck stupid" lol

You can only sex by color in certain breeds, Mallards and Campbells being two common examples. Browse Feathersite's Duck page for pictures of breeds. If they're older than four weeks you can almost always tell by the quack; males have a quiet-raspy "wakWAK" while females have a loud clear "QUACK." Also, if they're around four months (or older) they'll probably have their curly drake tail feather if they're male.

Vent sexing is an option at any age, but you need to have someone do it who knows what they're doing.

Any chance you could post some pics or describe the ducks in question?
