How to stop excessive scratching?

just got kind of confused because when i see videos of other chicken coops online they don't seem to have the same digging holes.

They probably rake their bedding before taking the videos in order to make them look nice for the camera. :)

The bedding in my coop looks like the craters of the moon. :D

Apologies, i am aware that this is typical chicken behavior, just got kind of confused because when i see videos of other chicken coops online they don't seem to have the same digging holes.
I'm convinced that these videos don't show the whole truth of the chicken environment. I'd bet that the chickens are allowed into the nice grassy yard for only a few hours total per week, but their actual living pen that they stay in for the other hours is stripped of all vegetation and holes dug. Either that, or the place has an absolutely excessive yard for the chickens - like half acre for 3 chickens.

Edit:
Oh wait, you said chicken coop. Yea, I'm sure they just tidy it up for the camera.
