how to stop pecking when their is a blood spot or injury on your chicken?

Chickens,when seen a blood spot or an injury on another chicken,will peck them to death.This is one of the reason why 32 percent die without any disease. You can stop it by installing a red light into the coop.The red colour will prevent other chickens from seeing the injury or blood spot.If you can't install the red light,then the only way is to keep the injured chicken away from the flock.

I use BluKote (purple color hides the red) to cover any blood specks or injuries on my chickens-with great success!

My birds get dinged up frequently, even chicks, because they are games. Preventative I use to control cannibalism following wounding is sound nutrition. Make sure sure protein level is adequate and feed is fresh. Read labels, run date, and store feed properly before and after opening.
