I know i've seen this info in a post, but i cannot find it. What I'm wondering is:

How long will an egg keep before putting in the incubator?

How to store the egg(s) until going into the incubator?

I've also read that, in general, eggs should be stored fat side up, whether waiting to incubate or just putting into fridge for eating. Yes?

Thx.

Hi,
Here, I store hatching eggs in a carton (big end up) for max 10 days --- or in a basket or just lying on the coffee table like they are right now, lol.
I've read of folks hatching much older eggs, eggs that had been refrigerated, etc., but here hatchability really starts to decrease after 10-ish days.

Let's see. Eggs can be kept for about 10 days, but most people try to incubate them by about day 7 because after that hatchability goes down. Yes, you store the eggs with the big side up. You should just store them in a cool place until you are ready to start incubation, but not in the fridge!!! I just store mine on the counter in the kitchen.
