Hi!

I have nine Anconas in the incubator. Really crossing my fingers here for at least three hens 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 after the last BR clutch gave me one out of six, but at least they are good for eating unlike the Anconas 🙄.

Leaves me with the question how to tell their gender or do I just have to wait to see comb differences after a few weeks?

Cheers
Annika

I didn't know there were Ancona ducks!
Just discovered one egg has twins in it...guessing I can write that one off.

Ancona chicks have combs.

There is no way to tell for Anconas except being patient and looking at comb/wattles.
Ok, seems the best way of telling the gender anyway. Just had some BRs and all the clues wouldn't reliably tell the gender - the combs did in the end.
5 roos, 1 hen 🤦🏻‍♀️
