I have a hen that I thought was sick but maybe just broody. She has no eggs to sit on as we remove them several times a day. She just sits alone and kinda sleeps all day. Very little interest in food and won't go in the coop if she is out. Won't go out if she is in. when left in she does tend to sit in the nest. I don't feel any bumps or lumps that I have seen discribed as stuck eggs or crop problemns. If she is Broody How long will it last if I let it run its natural course?

I had a BA with similar initial behavior and eventually got real thin and died. So I would guess it is old or sick and dying.

When i was sure that she was dying, I seperated her from the flock and let her die in peace. Did not try to save her because vet fee would have been a couple of hundred dollars.
