how to tell how old your chicks are???

I BOUGHT 7 BABY CHICKS LAST FRIDAY AT THE CO-OP WAS WONDERING HOW OLD THEY ARE SOME HAVE WING FEATHERS SOME DON'T AND NOW A COUPLE ARE GETTING TAIL FEATHERS
CAN YOU HELP?

My black Australorps started to get their tail and wing feathers at about 1 week, by 2 weeks the tails were about an inch long. Most chichs are only 3-4 inches tall at birth and practicaaly double that by week three.

I should have prefaced all this by saying that it depends on the breed of bird.

My daughter has been keeping a journal as to their progress for a science project.
